Will value of TCNTx_5 transfers to TGRx_5 when measuring pulse width?
Latest Updated:09/11/2012
Question:
In the figure "Example of External Pulse Width Measurement Setting Procedure" in the section of MTU2 in Hardware manuals (Figure 11.87 for the SH7286), the Notes 3. says "The value in TCNT is not captured in TGR". On the other hand, in the setting condition for each flag bit under TSR_5 of the section, it is written that when TCNTx_5 value is transferred to TGRx_5 and TGRx_5 is functioning as a register for measuring the pulse width of the external input signal ("x" can be U, V or W). Will the value of TCNTx_5 be imported to TGRx_5 when measuring the external pulse width?
Answer:
When combined with the complementary PWM mode, the value of TCNTx_5 will be imported to TGRx_5 at up/down timing.
When not combined with the complementary PWM mode, the value of TCNTx_5 will not be imported to TGRx_5, and each flag bit of TSR_5 will not be set.
When not combined with the complementary PWM mode, the value of TCNTx_5 will not be imported to TGRx_5, and each flag bit of TSR_5 will not be set.
