Is it impossible to clear the DTER until the number of transfers ended?

Latest Updated:03/26/2009

Question:

The hardware manual says on the DTC enable register(DTER), "These bits are not cleared when the DISEL(DTC Interrupt Select) bit is 0 and the specified number of transfers have not ended". Is it impossible to clear the DTER until the specified number of transfers have ended?

Answer:

The description in the hardware manual means the automatic clearance after transfer completion. It is possible to clear the DTER by reading "1" from the bit to be cleared and then writing "0" into, regardless of the specified number of transfer completion.

SH7101, SH7104, SH7106, SH7108, SH7105, SH7107 and SH7109 don't have the DTC function.
