IRQ interrupts: input bus release state retained until CPU takes back?

Latest Updated:03/25/2009

Question:

Are IRQ interrupts input in the bus release state retained until the CPU takes back the bus mastership?

Answer:

- If IRQ interrupts are set to edge detection
IRQ interrupt requests are retained.

- If IRQ interrupts are set to level detection
IRQ interrupts are not generated, while the IRQ pin is negated.
To accept IRQ interrupt requests, it is necessary to keep the level of the IRQ pin effective until the CPU takes back the bus mastership(until interrupts are accepted).
