Port Output Enable (POE) Terminal Input Setting

Last Updated:06/08/2017

Question:

Is it necessary to enable the input buffer control bit for a Port Output Enable (POE) terminal input setting?

Answer:

When using the RX62N, RX621, RX62T, or RX62G, it is not necessary to enable the input buffer control bit of the Input Buffer Control Register (ICR) for a POE terminal input setting.  This, however, above does not apply to the RX610.

Also, the following peripheral modules do not require ICR settings.
(1)RX62N, RX621 - port register read, data bus input, NMI, and POE pin inputs.

(2)RX62T, RX62G - port register read, NMI, and POE pin inputs.

For the input buffer control, see “Input Buffer Control Register (ICR)” and "Settings of Ports" description on the “I/O ports” section of their respective user’s manual.
