(RX210) What is "On-chip ROM (program ROM) (write only)" in the manual?

Latest Updated:01/23/2014

Question:

What is "On-chip ROM (program ROM) (write only)" in the memory map diagram in the manual?

Answer:

When programming or erasing ROM, a different address from the address for executing software is specified. "On-chip ROM (program ROM) (write only)" is the virtual area of the address specified at this time.

For erasing on-chip ROM, or reading after programming, specify the "on-chip ROM (program ROM) (read only)" address.

For details, please see Configuration of Memory Areas for the ROM in the Overview section of the ROM (Flash Memory for Code Storage) chapter of the User's Manual: Hardware.
