Is it possible to read data flash memory of RL78 without using a command?

Latest Updated:12/20/2013

Is it possible to read the data flash memory of the RL78 family MCUs without using the command for reading by calling the PFDL_Execute function of the type 04 data flash library for the RL78 family MCUs?

Yes, it is possible.
Data can be directly read by CPU commands by following the procedure below to make initial settings for this purpose.

  • Write 1 to bit 0 (DFLEN) of the data flash control register (DFLCTL).

  • Wait for the setup time (*) by using, for example, a software timer.

*The setup time differs with the mode of the main clock. For more information on the initial settings, refer to the User’s Manual: Hardware for the target device.
