Debugging flexible exception handling when using on-chip debugging emulator (serial)

Last Updated:03/22/2017

Question:

An on-chip debugging emulator (serial) doesn’t return response.

Answer:

When a serial OCD interface (debugging through a UART/CSI) is in use, the user must handle communications between an emulator and the target device by programming the debugging monitor program into the exception handler.
Therefore, the switched exception handler address may cause a communication error between the target device and the emulator.
For flexible exception handling, use an emulator which supports JTAG connection.
