E0562320 Error Message (RL78 CC-RL)

Latest Updated:12/05/2016

Question:

How do I resolve the following errors in the RL78 CC-RL compiler when the target MCU does not have a mirror area?

“E0562320:Section address overflowed out of range : ".const"” &
“F0563140:No "mirror" area information in input device file”

Answer:

With CC-RL, a const is handled by default as the near attribute so that it is allocated in the .const section.
However, since the target RL78 microcontroller does not have the mirror area, the .const section cannot be allocated & generates the error message. In this situation, please specify the compiler -far_rom option. This enables the ROM data to be the far attribute, and the output section becomes .constf.

<Supplementary information>
-With V1.03.00 or earlier of the CC-RL, you will get the error message E0562320. V1.03.00 or later,
F0563140.
-If you’re using V1.01 or earlier of the CC-RL and see the description of the .const section in the cstart.asm, please delete the description of the .const section in the cstart.asm.
