How are P01/SOUT2 and P02/SCLK2 affected by I/O2 port selection bit?

Latest Updated:01/25/2005

Question:

(Serial Interface)  How are P01/SOUT2 and P02/SCLK2 pin function affected by the serial I/O2 port selection bit (bit3) in the serial I/O2 control register 1 (SIO2CON1) and the direction register? [2005/01/25]

Answer:

When bit3 = 1, regardless of the direction register settings, the SOUT2 pin is output and SCLK2 is I/O.
At this time, the pin state can be read when the direction register is set to "0".
The SCLK2 pin is used for input when the serial I/O2 synchronous clock selection bit is "0" (external clock), and output when the serial I/O2 synchronous clock selection bit is "1" (internal clock).
At this time, the pin state can be read when the direction register is set to "0".
When bit3 = 0, SOUT2 pin is I/O port P01 and SCLK2 pin is I/O port P02. (#104936)
