Can you explain more about the usage of IGBT output mode of timer X?

Latest Updated:10/10/2008

Question:

(Timer)  Regarding the usage of IGBT output mode of timer X, with output from the TXOUT1 pin only, and TXOUT2 as a general I/O pin:
The following write order to the timer X registers is found in the Notes in the datasheet:
The compare register 1 (high- and low-order);
The compare register 2 (high- and low-order);
The compare register 3 (high- and low-order);
The timer X register (extension);
The timer X register (low-order);
The timer X register (high-order).

But we are writing to the registers in the order below:
The compare register 1 (high- and low-order);
The timer X register (extension);
The timer X register (low-order);
The timer X register (high-order).
Would this be okay?

Also, are there any adverse effects from not setting compare register 2 (high- and low-order) and compare register 3 (high- and low-order)? [2008/10/10]

Answer:

When outputting only from the TXOUT1 pin, there is no problem if compare register 2 (high- and low-order) and compare register 3 (high- and low-order) are not set. However, note that all these timer registers must be written to in 16-bit units. (#107150)
