Can external capacitor be used to regulate the density of oscillator?

Latest Updated:09/29/2006

Question:

(Clock)   Can an external capacitor or resistor be used to regulate the frequency of the on-chip oscillator? [2006/09/29]

Answer:

No. The on-chip oscillator does not require an external capacitor or resistor. The frequency is determined by the power supply voltage and operating ambient temperature. Please refer to "Standard Characteristics Example" and "On-chip Oscillator Frequency Standard Characteristics Example" in your user's manual or on our website.
Standard characteristics examples are measured from standard samples and provided as reference values only. They are not guaranteed. (#104852)
