Is CS+ change setting required for switching MCU and ROM set up?

Latest Updated:06/14/2017

Question:

When switching between target MCUs, in addition to changing the setting for ROM capacity, do I need to change settings such as the environment settings for CS+ ?

Answer:

After you have changed the target microcontroller for a project in the CS+ environment, change the following setting.

After changing the target microcontroller for a project in the CS+ or e² studio, change the settings as follows.

In [Property] of the CC-RX (build tool), change the setting for [Section] -> [Section start address] on the [Link Options] tabbed page to suit the ROM or RAM space of the CPU you will be using.
In CS+ 3.00.00 and later versions, the section start addresses allocated by default correspond to the ROM and RAM sizes for the RX MCU that you have selected for the project.

  1. For CS+
On the [Link Options] tabbed page in [Property] of the CC-RX (build tool), change the setting for the [Section start address] property in the [Section] category in accordance with the ROM or RAM space of the CPU which you are using.

In CS+ 3.00.00 and later versions, the section start addresses allocated by default correspond to the ROM and RAM sizes for the RX MCU that you have selected for the project.

  2. For e² studio

Right-click on the project name in the [Project Explorer] panel, select [Property] or [Renesas Tool Settings], go to [Linker] in [Settings], and then change the setting for Section Viewer in the [Section] category in accordance with the ROM and/or RAM space of the CPU which you are using.

For GNURX toolchain, ROM and/or RAM address ranges are also should be configured in "Memory Region" of the Section Viewer.
